My table 20091211 at 18:43:24 and also this week:
Helmut Newton: Sumo. This book is amazing. Truly inspiring. It has his greatest hits and so much more. I don’t think there is a single (good) fashion photographer who isn’t influenced by Newton and if you call yourself a fashion photographer and haven’t studied this book your photos probably suck. His work was often dirty (which I like) but more importantly he had an amazing sense of humor. I am a better photographer now that I own this book…I also always wanted a book that comes with a stand.
Shoot: Photography of the Moment - Snapshot photography art considered and explained.
Lina Scheynius - 02 If you like collecting self produced photo books I recommend you buy this before it sells out. (middle row left side)
Various Zines from Kaugummi Books most notably Old Glory by Alexander Martinez. Kaugummi has a great selection of zines priced really cheap. Definitely worth checking out.
Publication - “Featuring essays by Michael David Murphy, David Gibson, Hin Chua and Nick Turpin and the work of photographers including Joel Meyerowitz, Tod Papageorge, Martin Kollar, Trent Parke, Roger Mayne and some wonderful images from comparatively unknown Street Photographers.” - Reminds me of LayFlat (all postcards and a book of text) but strictly Street Photography and produced in the UK. So depending on your point of view you might like it or hate it. Personally I like it and hate it.
Abe’s Penny - I have been getting Abe’s Penny for months and I think it just keeps getting better and better. (bottom left)
Exteens - “Exteens is a collaboration between David Geeting, T. Reilly Hodgson, Dimitri Karakostas, and Hannah Myall.” Well done and clever presentation.
