My table 20091211 at 18:43:24 and also this week:Helmut Newton: Sumo. This book is amazing. Truly inspiring. It has his greatest hits and so much more. I don’t think there is a single (good) fashion photographer who isn’t influenced by Newton and if you call yourself a fashion photographer and haven’t studied this book your photos probably suck. His work was often dirty (which I like) but more importantly he had an amazing sense of humor. I am a better photographer now that I own this book…I also always wanted a book that comes with a stand.Shoot: Photography of the Moment - Snapshot photography art considered and explained.Lina Scheynius - 02 If you like collecting self produced photo books I recommend you buy this before it sells out. (middle row left side)Various Zines from Kaugummi Books most notably Old Glory by Alexander Martinez. Kaugummi has a great selection of zines priced really cheap. Definitely worth checking out.Publication - “Featuring essays by Michael David Murphy, David Gibson, Hin Chua and Nick Turpin and the work of photographers including Joel Meyerowitz, Tod Papageorge, Martin Kollar, Trent Parke, Roger Mayne and some wonderful images from comparatively unknown Street Photographers.” - Reminds me of LayFlat (all postcards and a book of text) but strictly Street Photography and produced in the UK. So depending on your point of view you might like it or hate it. Personally I like it and hate it. Abe’s Penny - I have been getting Abe’s Penny for months and I think it just keeps getting better and better. (bottom left)Exteens - “Exteens is a collaboration between David Geeting, T. Reilly Hodgson, Dimitri Karakostas, and Hannah Myall.”  Well done and clever presentation.

My Shit is Gold Vol 1 by Paul Herbst - This shit is pretty sweet. Untitled by Jonnie Craig - Another McGinley derivative, I am hoping this book sells out, he becomes famous and this book becomes worth something. Momofuku - I don’t have a kitchen so this is the only cookbook I would ever buy. The Momofuku restaurants are my favorite and I have done the PR photographs for them since Ssam Bar opened. I was actually supposed to do the photography for this book, but long story short, it didn’t work out. Gabriele Stabile did the photographs which was a pretty good choice. Check out this video with David Chang and Peter Meehan on VBS. The Photo Album - Put out by Frankie magazine it is a collection of photographs by photographers all around the world. It looks pretty awesome, I am glad I have a photo in this book.

NEW and USED by Marc Joseph- I got it used.Diana Scheunemann - I ordered this book and a few minutes later I got a call from her studio manager. We were in a show together in Canada. They were going to come and hand deliver the book, but our schedules didn’t work out. One day… Oh, she also takes a photo of herself every day.Shoplifting From American Apparel by Tao Lin. Tao started following me on Tumblr which I thought was pretty cool so I decided to buy a copy of his latest book directly from him (I almost bought it the store last week). I read it on the airplane, I enjoyed it… He also sells prints of his art work. I bought “Hamburger-Holding Sasquatch”. While his novella might not be an art book, it is part of a series called “The Contemporary Art of the Novella” so I think it counts.I HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAPPY NOW by Nicholas Zinner. I bought this book because of this photograph. On Thursday We Leave For Home by Todd Fisher (14/50). Todd is my absolute favorite “street” photographer. If you are not familiar with his work check here and here.

Diesel Fall/Winter 09 Catalog - Lyle dropped this off for me. He stars in it plus it was shot by Nocito. I think it is worth hanging on to (for a few months).Gang Up Magazine - Rumor has it that KALINA inspired this magazine into existence and if that is true I am truly flattered. The brainchild of DarkDaze and Co., Sally Reynolds showed me a copy and I bought it as soon as I got home. Really well done. Buy here.KIDS STAY FREE (bottom left) - Alexander Martinez sent me his zine. It’s really good. Thank you!Spring Break, the post card box set (aka TIME OF YOUR LIFE). I saw this on Stephen Schuster’s blog. I got the 98th box. A collaboration between Steven Brahms, Emiliano Granado and Stephen Schuster. Emiliano dropped it off. I made a new friend. Idol Magazine - A guy named Devin sent me a bunch of back issues of this magazine. It is produced by students of Union College in Schenectady, NY. Good Job. Thank you!
